The Deceiver seems to be the only one that understands what he does. He has his own agenda and seems to work for whomever he wishes to.

Extremely evil people join. Thats who most of the shades are. THey are evil folks who WILLINGLY joined the dark for power. As for the gods? Well SOMETHING condemns Great Heroes to return as the Leveler...
