Thralls CAN be created by plundering the "catacombs, crypts, and cemeteries of a thousand years" as one chronicler lamented, so Dark lords with sufficient necromantic resources often seem to boast an inexhaustible supply of them. -GURPS
As you can see.. GURPS says that it is possible to make thrall from old corpses.. not that old corpses are necessary (as I myself once thought).
