: necromancer (either Balor or Bahl'al, one of the two)
: and became thrall. I guess we're supposed to assume
: that some of those thrall were standing in the
: strangely deep water under the bridge (on which those
: two warriors were talking) and waiting endlessly for
: yum-yum-yummy apple cores to get tossed their way.
: Point: thrall made up a sizeable portion of the darks'
: armies.
It was Phelot who decimated Avon's Grove. And those Thrall aren't the bodies from Avon's Grove - Thrall are made from centuries-old, dessicated corpses. Ghasts are made from the freshly dead. But they are undead nonetheless, which gets the point across that the dead of Avon's Grove sat up and walked off with their killer-masters.
