: I think the general idea is that GURPS is valid UNLESS it
: directly contradicts something found in either Myth
: TFL or M2, such as when it says The Deceiver was still
: alive after "Shiver"(I can't figure out how
: that one got through proofreading.).
We were debating that one long before GURPS came out, though. The curious absence of any reference to The Deceiver's death in text or art after "Shiver," plus the later text about Myrdred still possessing Soulblighter's crow, had led many of us to believe that Myrdred's death was faked in some fashion (or else that he really died, but transferred his mind into Phelot's body). So to us, GURPS merely provided corroborating evidence.
And it got through proofreading because it's true, of course. :-)
: Also, can someone quote the passage (or summarize it if
: it's long) in Gurps that brings up this whole debate
: (regarding Shiver/Ravanna)?
GURPS has a passage on each Fallen Lord. Ravanna, the Voiceless One, is listed separately from Shiver, basically as a mysterious being who slipped through the night on strange missions. At the end it mentions that Shiver attacked the Deceiver when he called her "Ravanna," and it suggests the possibility that they're the same being.
