: Why not, was there going be more new units then the
: Forest Giants?
Naw, just didnt make the cut - there were 25 levels planned, and not all of them will be made.
: Well dont make it the full epic battle we all envision. I
: think with scripting, you can have reinforcements
: appear at certain times as the others die. Badthrall
: might of done it in Shadow of the Mountain...
Nonetheless, I dont think any map can do this battle justice. And I think that 400 is the max including invisible units.
: What a large catacomb. Why is tyr not possible. New units
: that were planned to be there too?
Tyr's definitely possible, its just that no-one's started it yet, and given that we aren't going to be releasing a whole lot more maps, it jsut probably will never be.
: If it is faceless man, then make him look like a guy in
: black robes with a mask. In the flavor text, you
: should be able to see his eyes
Ya mean like the Summoner? Don't worry, we aint lame enough to use Summoner sprites for a Fallen Lord, but thats sorta what the Summoner's like. I want Fallen Lord sprites, bah.
: I mean, what would the planned units be. Same with light
Planned new dark units woulda included a whole bunch of different types of Leixian pirates, (pirates, captains, and crossbowmen) we had an "Assassin" unit in conception - he looked sorta like a ninja in outline, he was going to have a suit with a grid on it, and everything but the grid was invisible - sorta get the idea? He would have had an arm-mounted dartgun and a knife - slow reload, very low health, high speed, very high damage (like poisoned knife or darts)
As for light units, we had a bunch of new Dwarven and Tyrian units modeled. There was the "Gholslayer," a dwarf with an axe and a special-ability molotov, a "Piecemaker" or "Inventor," a dwarf with a primitive shotgun, and various Tyrian soldiers and captains. Also Maeldun, who never even got out of conception - an Avatar with a special - ability "Fire Wave" attack (that in retrospect woulda lagged any machine to hell, heh - imagine an expanding arc of like 20 warlock fireballs, obscured by an elaborate fire lpgr, setting fires on the ground at each enemy hit - I could see one of those smashing into a wall of thrall, taking out the first two rows, setting a wall of fire in front of the rest. )
