I think he's just a guy--not meant to be identified (at least until Myth III). Connacht had various champions and avatara backing him up like every other Great Hero or Leveller, and naturally most of those would have died or disappeared by the era of TFL. The comic writer wanted to show Connacht with a couple of his buds, but there wasn't anyone besides Damas with whom the player was familiar. So he drew a dude whose face was hidden by a hood, so we *couldn't* identify him.
(Actually, I think the Faceless Man got merged with Soublighter in the final version. Which is why Soulblighter is faceless. :-)
