The different looks could be explained by the fact that in M2 we are seeing her actual SOUL made corporeal, instead of her body; and the different personality could be explained by the fact that the Shiver from TFL was only half of the whole soul; the other half was in the Voiceless One. Forgetting the spells - perhaps it's the body that retains the Dream powers, and not the soul, so dying made her loose all of her Dreams.
