I am aware its a large forest, but it certainly is the same general area. Follow my logic:
Soulblighter comes and teleports away the legion. Three real-world seconds later, the Tain explodes in his hand. Now, you go looking for a tain shard... its probably going to be in the same area! Plus we've got Bungie saying the player will recognize scenes from TFL, such as the stadium in Covenant and the waterfall / statue from Force Ten. Maybe this is another example...
Btw, I noticed that from TFL, that volcano IS a face! Look at the field guide! It is a stone face half buried in the ground! And now we have another firey face...
That clinches it... they fit somehow, but I dont know how!
