People really DO need to appreciate the LARGE number of 3rd party maps that have been created, the effort that went into them, and the FUN that was produced. Noone, least of all _me_ could have predicted the WWII phenomenon. Literally, the Recon map was made in 8 hours to test the new Soldier unit on. #CP# convinced me to release it then, without adding all the stuff I wanted to add.. the result ended up being a classic game that really emphasized (in my mind) what the Myth 2 engine excelled at (missile combat and special attacks). I was and still am ecstatic that it has enfluenced Myth II as long as it has.
Many people have said 'tell these guys to stop playing your map in ranked". I smile to myself, knowing full well that I couldn't influence that in any real way. Before WWII there was 'BC Tro', and before that.. well.. there wasn't Myth around.. soo.. *grin*. People will play what they enjoy and I am immensly happy that I have given FUN to the world. I am truely sorry if that fun they have had has hurt you, or discouraged you from playing ranked. You must believe me when I say I never intending anything but the best.
Everything I will be doing with the Myth III project has the same goals as WWII. MAKE THIS THING AMAZINGLY FUN AND ADDICTIVE. There are more ways to do that than can be imagined, we just need to hone it to a razors edge and release it to the world. Maybe it won't be your cup of tea, but maybe we'll make this diverse enough to cover the full gamut of player interest. Maybe, just maybe, we can even blow you away, and addict you for another year. *big asssed smile* I hope so, because I dig you guys. *8)
