In Response To: Shape of the Myth World (Milk Man)

: The myth world is flat and shaped like a disk. I ran
: across the definition of the Great Devoid in the
: glossary of the Myth Manual and it stated that the
: Great Devoid was both bottomless and at the center of
: the world.

False. Page 46, "VI: Glossary: Other important People, Places, and Things"...

"Great Devoid: A bottomless chasm near Myrgarg, created by the Callieach during their final days. Rather than he hunted to extinction by the Trow, the Callieach destroyed themselves and many Trow, leaving behind only the Devoid."

I do seem to recall some place that reffered to the Barrier (which IS near the center of the known lands, believed by most Mythlanders to be the entireity of the real world, Wyrd's vision) as the Devoid instead, but that was obviously either a typographical error or a vestige of a previous name.

Tharsis is the center of the-world-as-we-know-it.

: For this to be true the myth world must be:
: a) Flat, as a spherical world has no center on it's
: surface

: b) Shaped Like a Disk as for the Devoid to be Bottomless
: is must go all the way through the myth world.

: Additional proof comes from the supposedly
: "mad" Journeyman who claimed that the Myth
: world was flat and shaped like a coin with the world
: we know on one side and the dead bound be magics
: "no human can master" on the other.

He also claimed that the edge of the known map was the Edge of All, and that beyond it was nothing. GURPS elaborates on this topic: many Mythlanders believe that known world map is the entireity of what is "real". That Wyrd's vision encompassed all we see on the map, and though we may touch and smell and kill things beyond its edges, they don't really exists because Wyrd didn't envision them.
