: Good point, especially when one considers that Myrkridian
: Giants are much more intelligent and less feral than
: their smaller brethren.
: Which raises another point... Is a myrkridia born a
: giant... is it a seperate race of Mykridia? Or do all
: Myrkridia become giants if they survive enough?
According to GURPS, they're born that way--1 in 100 Myrkridia just becomes one after awhile. "These rule their pack when present. All mages, Large Myrkridia will often wander off by themselves, to meet with others of their special kind and orally trade knowledge of spellcasting."
: yea and it would make sense that the Deciever, an ancient
: ally of the Warlocks, would remember where it is where
: as it's location might have been forgotton after
: several generations of warlock had past... or do
: Warlocks have extrodinarily long lifespans as well? Or
: is it like in the Black Company where your lifespan is
: proportional your magical ability?
The wording is ambiguous; they're called ancient a lot, but that could refer either to them or to their organization. But they seem to refer pretty familiarly to The Deceiver, whom they haven't seen for 60 years. I'd guess that they live for a few hundred years at most.
Remember that, in the tradition of most fantasy, all powerful/heroic Myth characters are pretty long-lived. Mauriac, a powerful warrior but not a mage at all, lived to at least a hundred; Dwarves all have an extended lifespan. So Warlocks probably have to live for over a century just to fit in. :-)
