Is it possible that in, perhaps, Cath Bruig tounge the names Connacht-Balor or Tierces-Moagim have some kind of connection? Perhaps as he is, after all, unsung, the name of the slayer of the first Moagim was never found and thus they could not think of a name for the Leveller rose from him? Then again the writer of the TFL journal called the Leveller "Balor" even before he new that it was Connacht. This raises another question... did the Cath Bruigs know that Balor = Connacht? If so then they could have started calling him Balor and the name spread to the west without the info that he was actually Connacht? Perhaps I'll look a little bit into Celtic mythology to see if I can unravel this puzzel.
