Connacht fought mykridia? And I don't beleive he ever fought any undead so why not use them himself? If he hated Mykridia when he was Balor then why couldn't he like undead when he was Connacht? Perhaps Balors personality merely mirrors Connachts except he is evil, but a love of undead doesn't necesarily make one evil. Since there was presumably so many dead about he might have figured to use them rather then bury them all.
Just a thought.
