I have a feeling the reason there are no myrmidon's is as simple as Joy put it. They had their role and they were cool, but they were replaced game wise with the mykridia, which when you think about it are basically myrmidons, game wise again. They're fast and have a fast attack so whats the point of having two units that basically do the same thing? I think that Bungie either had to have myrms or myrks and they chose myrks for VERY obvious reasons. As for a story? I believe this is one of those incidents were no story can truly be placed with this action (such as the eye placement of the pfhor fighters from Marathon to Marathon 2)
