Are we sure that's Shiver? There's other wavy-haired medusas in Myth, such as in the catabombs beneath Muirthemne. The bridge could have been built by the same folks as the catacombs - the Smiths of Muirthemne. Maybe, after they disappeared into it fleeing Connacht, they had the barbarians who reportedly stole it hide it in Forest Heart, and then came out of it and established a settlement there.
