Tireces was a Hero, not a Leveller.
We knew there was some unknown Hero back in the First Era who fought and died against some unknown Leveller with an unknown army. Basically we know nothing except what we can derive from the cycle - which direction they came from, their order/chaos affiliation, etc.
In the Second Era there was another Leveller, and Tireces the Great Hero defeated him and ushered in the Age of Reason. We know a little about the Light side of things, but again almost nothing about the Dark.
In the Third Era, Tireces returned as Moagim with the Myrkridia, and an unknown Hero fought and died against him.
In the Fourth Era, the Leveller called "Moagim reborn" attacked the west at the same time Connacht was liberating the east, at least until Connacht reached the west and kicked his ass too. Presumably he used the Myrkridia which were already running around killing things.
And of course in the Fifth Era, Balor used the Undead.
