Well, I say that he couldn't do it for any of the Fallen Lords, and the revived Shiver was an impostor. But sane people say that it's because Shiver, rather than being ordinarily killed, had her soul ripped out by Rabican (as seen in the TFL comic), and it was just floating around, looking for a body. And apparently Tramist's Mirror is just the thing for reincarnating disembodied souls.

Like the other Fallen Lords, he hates the Deceiver. He couldn't stomach allying with him. (And maybe he *would* have allied himself with the Deceiver if the Light hadn't got to him first. It's possible that the Dark only tries to kill Myrdred on "The Deceiver" because they don't want any chance of you talking to him.)

Soulblighter didn't have a fort because:
a) His army, heavy on Krids and Ghols, relied on speed; a static fortress would only limit their mobility.
b) Balor had a fortress, and look what happened to him. Alric might have tried the same thing on Soulblighter if he had one.
c) Soulblighter wasn't that smart.
