You could just as easily say that The Head had grudges against the other Avatara but never forgot that it hates the Dark. :-) Far as I can tell, it did a lot of damage to both sides but didn't really tip the balance one way or another. After all, Balor was *supposed* to win, so if The Head did anything, it helped the Light.
