Ah much better. :-)
: Again, story-wise, if the Wights teleport in via World
: Knot, you have to explain why
: a) there wasn't a visible Knot effect,
True. But perhaps we were never meant to see it anyway. Only hear the explosion and wonder what caused it.
: b) no one noticed the use of the Knot and commented on it
: in the narrations, or made the Head's warning
: superfluous,
My gut feeling is that this was dropped at some stage. It would have helped alot if someone had said "What the hell was that?" after the explosion and the J-man informing us the Knot has been destroyed and we'll have to escape on foot. So explaining the next level.
One of the reasons why it may have been dropped in that the Wights don't always destroy a Knot pylon when they explode.
: c) the Wights had to wait until you were so far away
: before teleporting in (What would they care if you
: killed them as soon as they appear? They'd already be
: in range)
Those Wights are special. They don't attack Light forces. Again that makes me think this isn't your standard scripted event.
: d) the Wights took the trouble to leave the Knot and go
: outside it before detonating, and
When does this happen? Once they are in the Knot they blow it.
: e) the Dark didn't send a more substantial force to catch
: you from behind.
No need to send in extra troops the Watcher he had us trapped which he did until we found out about the secret tunnel. Which... surprise... surprise... so did Soulblighter! :-)
: I'm not pretending that all of these are major
: objections, but it certainly seems unnecessary to
: believe that the Wights were teleported in.
Well I'm trying to reconcile gameplay with the story and not invent a special Dark unit to explain events.
Cheers
