No, it's inverted! The next 890-odd years will be Light instead of the intended Dark, with Alric ruling from his throne in the West and spreading the Cath Bruig empire eastward, then mysteriously disppearing into the west. "Balor Reborn" shall then rise from the West, only to be challenged by Alric's return. He will kill Alric and usher in a thousand years of Dark, himself dying in the process of securing a Dark victory.

But Alric shall rise again - this time as as the Leveller, to seize control of a nearly ruined world. Except that Connacht shall be reborn as well, and will defeat evil-Alric, and usher in a thousand years of Light, before disappearing into the West. At the end of that thousand years, evil-Alric shall be reborn once more, and the great Connacht Reborn shall rise to stop him, killing him, yet failing to save the world or even his own life.
