D'oh. I was remembering that flavor text as saying Clovis let them be buried there; it was actually Connacht. So that was only a thousand years ago. Nonetheless, there's still no record of Zerks actually coming into conflict with(or even being standoffishly hostile toward) the Cath Bruig or the Province any time in history, IIRC.
