: "dear?" I don't think that's normal, Forrest.
It was supposed to be in a pseudo-condescending tone, as if talking to one's child. ("Now now dear, stop grabbing everything or no desert tonight!")
: School and stuff gets in the way here too.
: SO PEOPLE. LOOKS LIKE SATURDAYS ARE IT. Now if only I
: knew what the time differences were. I think that
: england is six hours before eastern, and pacific is
: about three hours ahead eastern. I don't quite know
: about central.
GMT is always on the half-hour compared to everywhere else, as it doesn't shift for daylight's savings. That's why it's "mean" time, it's between (or "in the mean of") the two different time-sets used in winter or summer. It's 8.5 or 9.5 hrs ahead of Pacfic Standard Time, IIRC. I always get confused about Mean Time.
Lets see... Spring and Summer it's 8.5hrs ahead of Pacific, Fall and Winter it's 9.5hrs ahead. Seeing as it is not Daylight (Fall-Winter) time yet, that means noon PST is 8:30PM GMT.
Anyway, Eastern is 3hrs ahead of Pacific, 1hr ahead of Central, and 2hrs ahead of Mountain. So, if it's noon in NY, it's 11AM in Chicago, 10AM in Tahoe, and 9AM in LA. And 5:30PM in Greenwich.
(I'm starting to wish we all used a global 24-hour mean time system).
