: and people lived in constant fear untill Connacht
: finally dealed with them all. Considering also the
: fact that he was running around destroying and hiding
: artifacts suggest a long time too.
It didn't exactly take a long time to get rid of the Myrkridia. The attempts were unsuccessful until Connacht came along with the Tain. The arrival of the hero or leveller is always a turning point, not the inevitable end of a long process.
