: I believe most of this is wrong, for one simple reason:
: Fosgarach is near Willow Creek. (See signposts in
: "Salvation"). My theory is thus: it starts
: off just barely in the Untamed Lands, off the
: southeastern edge of the continent. Then they move
: northwest into Ruewood, a wood in Forest Heart.
: Through Forest Heart they eventually come to
: Fosgarach, near Willow Creek. From there they meet the
: Baron on the north shore of Cavan Bight (prehaps
: related to the city name Cavanaugh?), and then up to
: the frozen source of the Wild River and Kyrilla's
: fortress. Where Cartucke's underground lair is, it
: doesn't really matter does it?
But ... but ... ah yes, thought of something! Didn't
One Elk set out from Muirthemne with the purpose of
finding Fenris, who he knew to be in Forest Heart? Why then
would he take a massive detour to the east, when he knew
the journey to be a short one to the south?
Also, may I borrow your Mazzarin argument Sili? Thankyou.
Ahem, "perhaps there is more than one town called
Fosgarach".
Either way, you have Fir'bolg who took an active part in
the war, unlike their Erminian brothers.
Another thing, often they didn't know where they were
(witness the Location Unknowns), something that would fit
well with a story set in the Untamed (and unmapped) Lands,
but not with the western world.
There's room for a prequel to Chimera too, as its built
on a whole stack of things that happened in the war that
we obviously didn't get to see.
Cheers,
