: I reckon that the Dwarven Morter brigade will become a
: common sight on the walls of the Imperial seat. They
: did capture it. Oh, and I suppose the Trow helped
: too:) Back to the Journeymen - I think they look
: cooler and the fact that they can kill things with a
: shovel really rocks. Besides, you can't have it both
: ways. You can choose great warrior skill or have the
: vast intelligence that years of study with scrolls and
: things would bring. Infact, you would have thought a
: Journeymen somewhere would have learnt some hardcore
: magic from reading ancient Tomes.

When you live for a few thousand years, you *can* have it both ways. The surviving post-Journeyman Heron Guards presumably have all the arcane knowledge they amassed during their years of penance--they just didn't have much opportunity to show it off while being led by Alric or the Deceiver. And actually, all Heron Guards are quite intelligent and learn a great deal about healing magics, theology, and politics during training as well as the tactical stuff. Future Herons, being younger, will be less knowledgeable than the veterans of Soulblighter, of course.
