Hrm! When does he died? When I watch it, he gets hit at the start and runs back a bit, the Dwarf lays satchels and Shiver is lured over them, a fire arrow is shot and Shiver is seriously hurt... then the rest of the level goes on like normal until the end, when another fire arrow kills Shiver as the ending script takes over and everybody starts to line up for the final confrontation (which never happens, as Shiver is dead and the level ends soon thereafter). What's the rundown of what you see?
