: As for human archers being better, sili is just being
: silly. Though your average fir'bolg isnt exactly a
: master archer ever (probably just hunters or mb the
: aristocrats of the society) , the human archers still
: attend fir'bolg universities to learn from the masters
: who are all fir'bolg. I suspect that if you actually
: got to see one of these masters in action.. you'd soon
: change your mind about the superiority of human
: archers :) Also keep in mind that the fir'bolg have
: the bre'unor to deal with at home and rather not have
: to concentrate on foreighn wars.
Sounds like someone needs to replay TFL. :-)
We saw what fir'Bolg can do when the situation is desperate and the survival of their entire race is at stake. And they *still* weren't any better than Myth 2's human archers. Sure, they had their champions like ki'Angsi, but Oderic's every bit as good. Better, since he has fire arrows.
This shouldn't really be surprising. Plenty of cultures have adopted foreign arts and technologies and become better at using them than their original creators. Sure, the fir'Bolg start using the bow from an earlier age--but on the other hand, as previously discussed in the Asylum, you can't really develop your archery skills to the max in a forest, where visibility and arrows' range are so drastically restricted. Human archers have much better opportunities to practice. Also, since there are a lot more humans period, there are naturally going to be a lot more humans who are naturally talented archers.
I doubt the fir'Bolg masters are actually *better* archers than the champions we've seen in-game--the best practitioners of an art are rarely its best teachers--but even if they are, they wouldn't be numerous enough to make a significant contribution to the war effort, no matter how vast their individual abilities. We didn't hear anything about them helping the war in TFL, after all.
