: a).Attempt to recapture some the hopelessness of Myth. I
: don't know about you but I always felt like we were
: losing in Myth. Myth II seemed a little easy to
: defeat, like Soulblighter was never a threat
That's true. Nearly all the way through Myth I felt like we were getting our asses kicked. Even at the end I thought that only a few people survived.
: b).Use Myrkridia because they are damn cool and terrified
: me when I first saw them in Myth II
But the Myrkridia are dead, right? Unless they have undead Myrkridia...that would be scary.
: c).Have a non-linear campaign; it'd be cool for the
: player to feel more and more screwed as he loses. The
: downside would be you would have to intentionally
: loose to try every level
If Alric can get the Empire back to it's former glory in 940 years or whatever it was then I'd think it pretty difficult for the next Leveler.
: One final thing-Don't advance the plot into 1000 years
: after Alric's death (thus making him the Leveller) the
: society would have developed into a sci-fi world with
: guns etc by then
I'm not so sure. The technology rate of the Myth world seems pretty slow. Only the Dwarves have morters but they're unstable. Besides, Alric might not be the Leveler. We don't know if the cycle is broken. I'd like to see a come back of the Spider cult. What happened to those guys, anyway.
