Okay, the general consenseus (two people :P) seems to be saying that since it's not bungie sanctioned it's not legal. One thing I did find a bit confuzzling though is both your references to History. We aren't in the real world here.
Also about the comic book example, there actually was one such occurance in the Myth world. Tales From Myth TFL appeared and was sanctioned, so the "dinosaur-comic" ain't that far fetched for us :)
Also, from what I see, Myth doesn't have a completely agreed upon story (albeit it _is_ large). Just lookat the inconsistensies in GURPS, official Bungie material.
Anyway, these are all moot points since I agree with both of you anyway.
Still was a kewl storyline though.... ;)
