: What I'm suggesting is that none of the Great Heroes are
: alike in any way at all, other than by pure
: coincidence. There is no spirit shared between them,
: and no traits are carried over in any way. The only
: singular spirit involved is that of the Leveler (one
: L!) who possesses the reincarnation of the previous
: Great Hero as per the cycle. This is the only
: relationship; the one between the Leveler and the
: previous Great Hero. This is all theory, mind.
1 L in the original texts, 2 Ls in GURPS, and either in the dictionary. :-)
: GURPS is a book intended for role-playing. RPG books give
: adventure-hooks, and this could easily be a prime
: example. I honestly don't think it hints at Alric's
: connection with Moagim other than to provide some
: interesting potential plots.
Could be--the bulk of the hints are admittedly in a "Campaign seed" section. However, there are additional hints elsewhere in the book, which (I think) makes the idea somewhat more convincing than the briefly-mentioned ideas like "Mazzarin's gonna reincarnate sometime soon" or "Maybe the Head's a god." Also, it seems to be a fact that Alric doesn't like horses, which even without GURPS would make me think that Alric and Moagim were linked. Not that it has to make you think that too.
: I just don't want newcomers to the Asylum to get the
: wrong idea and think that theories are actually fact.
: Because I'd think that if I didn't have my own
: knowledge to protect me :)
I suspect that most Asylum readers can figure out that terminology like "A spirit" doesn't come straight out of the text, but it's still a noble sentiment. :-)
