i dunno if i agree with that. in the M2 epilogue, it says:
"Although the hero of every age of light is different, every dark age is ushered in by the same beast — a transient divinity that seeks only conflict — The Leveler."
to me that suggests that when one of the heros take down a Leveler, theyre just normal(if really powerful/lucky) humans. but later on, that hero is taken over by the "transient divinity" of the leveler, until they're killed by the next hero, at which time the leveler spirit leaves their current body.
