: Thrall obviously can't. That's becuase in the case of
: the Shade re-animation process, the magics retain the
: memories and thoughts of that person. Just like a
: thrall and other Undead, their soul remains in the
: afterlife.
When is there ever mention of an afterlife? Also the shade process is completely different from the thrall process just as the ghast process is different from the thrall process. They are all seperate means to achieve seperate ends. The thrall seem to be animated just as they are and have no free will and no minds. The ghasts are but the first step to wighthood. As seen by willow creek, ghasts aren't meant to be used as mellee units, and as such, they suck. Shades on the other hand have both free will (though they can be bound), a mind, and memories of thier past lives.
