Apologies for the long response time

In Response To: Re: The Forest Giant (Origin, etc.?) (Forrest)

Was helping in the final crunch to get Titans out.

: The Fetch are aliens, from a different planet (world).
: Not sure if that's what you meant or not.

I didn't get this across as clearly as I thought I did. That the fetch could be drawn from another world by The Leveller suggest to me that other races in unexplored places could've been drawn from other worlds.

: The Trow were created from stone and clay by Nyx, so I
: would agree that they would represent earth. As for
: how they poisoned the soul of iron, they used iron
: weapons to kill the Oghres. "But we had a
: powerful ally... and once iron had tasted blood... it
: became insatiable." (From "Tales From Myth
: The Fallen Lords").

Ahhh, I need read 'Tales.' Even so, if one allows that Nyx could have created them from stone and clay by firing it, they could potentially represent fire.

: I dunno, I somehow think the Giants are one of the
: younger races. Humans and the other younger races have
: been around for at least 22 centuries, so the Giants
: could have had plenty of emnity with the Trow during
: that time.

Indeed 2200 years is plenty of time for even the longest lived races to develop a state of 'cold war' with each other. I'd like to see a SP campaign of the first encounters and developing war between the Trow and FGs.

: Thirty years before Connacht arrived, the Trow-Oghre war
: began. So that's about 10 centuries ago.

Considering that the Forest Giants make no mention of their history beyond this point (Though in an admittedly short role for their race) I think it's reasonable to put their age at somewhere between this number and the 2200 years ago number, definately making them a younger race. Ah well, theories often go awry on such details. ;-)

Even so the depth and potential of Bungie's unfilled story gaps makes me wish a MIII, covering more of the history of the Myth world, was in the works.
