Bungie just wanted a cool flavour text. They didn't invent huge backstories about the nature of the Leixian pirates. They didn't invent exactly how Maeldun conquered Leix. They just wanted a cool flavour text. I think you overalyze stuff that wasn't meant to be analyzed at all.
