In Response To: Location of Leix (Bubba)

: "Maeldun's only words on returning exhausted to Tyr

: Have just reread the above flavour text. Is it just me or

: After all, he needs someone to show him the way. It

: Bubba (beginning to wonder just exactly what he's

Yeah, which is a strike against the "prison colony" idea. I really have no idea why people seem so positive that Leix is a prison colony, unless there's some text I missed somewhere that comes right out and says it. Why would a prison colony have the resources to become pirates, anyway? Generally, when you establish and maintain such a colony, you try to make it next-to-impossible for the prisoners to get ships and weapons; that's kind of the point. I suppose the guards could have been distracted by or sent off to the war in the East, but it still seems pretty unlikely. You need a *lot* of ships to be able to loot and burn a big chunk of a city and escape alive.
