but all of the elder races were created by wyrd. if the ghols were created by the dark/spider gods, they wouldnt look much like the races created by wyrd.
also, perhaps the trow recognised that the ghols were different from the other races, which is why they mearly sugjagated them instead of destroying them entirely.
i just thought of something else, which sort of goes along with forrests comments about the images on the tain artifacts. he was saying how they looked very lovecraftian, and that remided me of the ghol idol on the world knot level, which had a face on it that bore a strong resemblance to ch'thulu, another lovecraft monster.
