Could it perhaps he "Firey Steel" or "Burning Iron" or some such? As I understand it, Igne means Iron, not Sword, though it is often translated as steel and thus used as a symbol for the sword. (I only know about this because of the Ingue Ferroque fiasco).

I would think "Bitter Hardship" to be the most likely.

Heheh... so this guy's name could mean, basically, "Stupid stick"? (as in, the stick with which you make one stupid).

Hrm... perhaps Trow don't breed. Maybe they are all sculpted from stone and clay, perhaps all having survived since the Dawn of Time when Nyx made them, and this particular individual was made from tufa.
