: I wonder what sort of army the Leveler did use then?
: Low-magic could have meant no necromancy, but then
: again it wouldn't have necessarily meant that. Moagim
: seems to have been the first to organise the Myrkridia
: into a sizeable force. Ghols were likely around for a
: long time (considering them remember the names of the
: 'dark gods'...). However, GURPS says that, 'Until
: recent decades, the vast majority of Ghols could not
: envision seeking a better life than the day-to-day
: pillaging that most still practice. That changed when
: they took up Balor's banner and exploited...' which
: implies that they were not organised into a vast mob
: before (and I think they'd remember if they were,
: considering them remembered the names of the dark
: gods. I believe I've said that before).
It's possible the leveller had no proper army, but worked in exaberating the problems between the humans, dwarves and fir'bolg. Or maybe he hired lots of mercenaries.
Another possibility is that he was the only one with much in the way of magic and recruited by making promises.
