I don't see how one dwarf would be able to collapse the barbican all by himself, it would seem to me that it would need a hell of a lot of explosive, and thus a hell of a lot of dwarves. True, the dwarves _do_ love to fight, but which would be more valuble to them, dying valiantly in a doomed defense, or dying valiantly under a thousand tons of rock, ensuring that thier hated enemies will _never_ gain entrance to thier sacred city? I'd tend to go with the latter, but to each his own.
