For the newbies who haven't read all the evidence before, I figure I'll back my statements here.

The A/B reincarnation thing comes from a statement in GURPS that Alric dislikes horses because he was Moagim in a previous life (Moagim was drawn & quartered) and that Connacht didn't fight Moagim but another guy called "Moagim Reborn". Since Moagim was also Tireces, this means that the Great Hero of the Second Era, the Leveller of the Third Era, the Leveller of the Fourth Era, and the Great Hero of the Fifth Era were all reincarnations of the same spirit. Tireces, Moagim, Moagim Reborn, and Alric - all the same spirit. The two other Great Heroes/Levellers who are identified anywhere are Connacht and Balor, who we know to be the same person. Therefore, our Hero/Leveller chart would look somethng like this:

???/???
Tireces/???
???/Moagim
Connacht/Moagim Reborn
Alric/Balor

If you look at this in terms of whether it's the Alric-spirit ("A") or the Connacht-spirit ("B"), you see:

???/???
A/???
???/A
B/A
A/B

Looking at the pattern now, it seems obvious that A always fights against B, so the pattern is:

???/???
A/B
B/A
B/A
A/B

And, following the pattern back, the First Era would have been A/B.

Now, as for where people came from...
Tireces came from the East. Moagim came from the East. Connacht came from the East. Balor came from the East. It seems that, whether A or B, Leveller or Hero, the guy from the East is always the victor (except in the lastest era, which is fux0red).

However, the comet has not always come from the east. We know it came from the east in the Fifth Era, but it came from the West in the Fourth Era. We don't know where it came from in the Third Era, or that it came at all in the Second or First (though we can assume it did). But with what little evidence we have to go on, it appears that it alternates its direction every thousand years - and interestingly enough, always comes from the same direction as the Dark forces.

I'd like to take a moment to acknowledge Tharsis here, which always erupts on schedule just as the comet appears.

Now, with death and birth and reincarnation....
Tireces was born in the Second Era, fought someone, established civilization, and then vanished from history. A thousand years later he reappeared as Moagim - the same person as Tireces, but completely different personality. At the same time, another guy was born, opposed Moagim, and quickly died, but not before ensuring Moagim's fall as well. A thousand years after that, Tireces/Moagim was reincarnated as "Moagim Reborn", a different person but the same spirit. The Great Hero from the Third Era, who died opposing Moagim, was reborn now as Connacht. Connacht fought Moagim Reborn and killed him, then vanished from history. A thousand years later he reappeared as Balor - the same person as Connacht, but a completely different personality. At the same time, Alric was born, opposed Balor... and should have died while ensuring Balor's death.

So as we see here, an individual spirit's cycle is:
1 - Reborn good, disappears.
2 - Reappears evil, dies.
3 - Reborn evil, dies.
4 - Reborn good, dies.

And the A and B spirits' cycles are offset by two eras.

Next time on Mad-sterpiece Theater: chaos, order, and balance; the dueling spirits' and good and evil's innate tendancies; and everybody's favorite subject, geography!
