: You forget that magic can be stuff other than purely
: combat oriented. the strength of the crown could have
: lain in it's abilities to enhance the user's charisma
: and maipulation, thus allowing him to make stirring
: speaches and lead with power. Just because a power
: doesn't appear in Myth _the game_ doesn't mean it
: doesn't exist...
True, true. In fact a friend just told me that its power
could have been the ability to come to terms with your inner
self and be at peace with the world.
: Cath bruig was destroyed by the awsome might of Balor's
: magic wasn't it, I mean that _is_ what created the
: barrier and all... also rememeber that the empire was
: excatly in decline when it fell. It was destroyed by a
: combination of trickery and magic, the Heron Guard
: were lured out of the cities by Soulblighter's forays
: into the Cloudspine, and in thier absense, the empire
: was overrun and destroyed. It seems that _the only_
: was Balor could defeat them was by outsmarting them,
: not exactly the sign of a civilization in decline if
: you ask me.
Yes, you're probably right. In fact you're certainly
right. You've demolished my whole theory in one smashing
blow. It was just an idea after all, and it was fun
trying to think it through.
But (there has to be a 'but'), I still think the crown's
overrated. After all, the narrator does say that "Legend
states that whoever wears the Ibis Crown has at his disposal
truly staggering power". If its just legend...
