To answer your questions as best I can:
Chimera was produced by the talented people of Badlands,
and was published/hyped by Bungie. The story of Chimera
is not directly related to the events in Myth or Myth 2;
it just takes place in the same universe, sometime after
Soulblighter's defeat. A nice piece of fan fiction,
if you will.
The great folks at Creation are doing tons of stuff, most
of which I don't know anything about. As far as I know,
most of the scenarios done by Creation are stories which
occur within, but independent of, the 'authorized'
timeline. The stories and single player meshes
were designed to give people a little flavor to go with
the map, as well as a chance to try out the new
units/terrain before going online.
The exceptions to this are the Coming of the Dark maps,
and the Homeland series. Homeland takes place soon after
Soulblighter's defeat and is an unofficial continuation
of the Myth timeline. Conversely, the Coming of the Dark
maps chronicle the events leading up to Myth TFL. Battles
mentioned in flavor text and cutscenes are brought to life
in these maps. While also not 'authorized' by Bungie, the
Creation folks have done a stupendous job keeping the maps
true to the Bungie timeline of the Great War.
