I'm not sure which other people you're talking about. The only person with enough detail to be "obviously not a dwarf" is the spirit of the paralyzed warrior, which leaves behind 5 or 6 afterimages as it's projected through the magical portal. If you're talking about the very vaguely-drawn people who seem to be visible beneath the spider (and, on the previous page, seem to inhabit a sort of misty region in a valley), I don't think they're definite enough that you can say that they're not dwarves, or sheep, or pickup trucks, or anything else. I think they're probably the trapped souls of earlier sacrifices; when the warrior's body was destroyed, his soul probably joined them.
