In Response To: Microsoft? (KillerApe)

That sucks so much it's unbelievable. Just what bullshit has Bungie eaten as to let Microsoft buy them. It's utterly irresponsible what Bungie has done. They know quite well that Microsoft is a criminal organization rotten to the ground. Now Bungie get's part of this criminal organization:

First, Microsoft licences Q-Dos and sells it to IBM, even though they didn't have the right to sell it cause they just licensed it. IBM thought Microsoft had developed it. What result did come out of it: MS-DOS running on IBM-PC's and thus creating illegaly a monopol with a software they didn't own and didn't develop. Later they paid the firm that developed Q-DOS 500000$ so they don't sue them. They gained a monopoly in OS illegaly!

Later on an alternative OS called DR-DOS from DRI comes into the market. It had more features than MS-DOS, was faster and more stable and also runs on all IBM-compatible-PC's. What does MS in order not to lose marketshare to DR-DOS? It introduces a new licensing-method called "Per-processor-licensing". That means they made the PC-manufacturers pay license for MS-DOS for every PC manufactured even when half of the PC manufactured had no MS-DOS. They could have denied this licensing-model, but then MS would have charged three times the price for Windows which runs above DOS. By this method and price-reductions, DR-DOS had no chance to compete.

After DR-DOS was destroyed MS doubled the price for MS-DOS 5, cause there were no other competitor available.

So, not only did they gain the monopoly illegaly, they also kept it illegaly by price-dumping and per-processor-licensing.

Later on the same thing continues with Windows for Workgroups with which they tried to put Novell into oblivion. Windows a graphical shell on top of MS-DOS got copied from Mac-OS. Even though Apple did sue them they hadn't any success, because the trials took years to complete, while MS created facts and marketshare with Windows 3.
But they didn't stop there, later on they copied Next-OS massively with
Windows 95/98.
But even that is not enough for MS. They also wanted to deliberately create a monopoly in the applications-bussiness, in which Borland, Lotus and Novell were successfull. They used the illegely created monopoly in OS to gain dominance in applications. They bundeled MS Word and MS Excel with Windows to be installed by PC-manufacturers worldwide. By this other software-developers had difficulty making profits with spredsheets and text-processors.

Then MS saw that the future lays in the internet. Whoever controls the information there will be the most mighty one. MS bought a browser and called it Internet Explorer and started to compete with Navigator. Then they saw that they couldn't compete by features alone, that they had to use their OS to create a monopoly there. too. They developed a Windows-95/98- version in which Internet Explorer was built in. Additional they offered Internet Explorer in the internert for free, in order to make Netscape lose profits. And now we know what happened, netscape lost cause they had no chance.

Then MS sees the playstation2 and dreamcast having pc-similar features and network-ability. MS has also have to have a dominance in the console-market Enter X-box: What makes a console successful? Not their technical ability, but the games! The more games a console can offer the more successfull it will be. Well, even in this market MS uses their monopoly in OS to be succesful in gaining major game-developers to develop for X-box instead of playstation2. The similar architecture of the X_box to the PC, windows ce, all this makes it easier for gamedevelopers to develop for X-Box.

It's time to stop MS. It's not enough to break up MS. The executives of MS should be put in jail: Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer should be punished by a fine of 10 billion dollars and a jail-punishment of 5 years.

They are gangsters, and Jason Jones just sold his company to gangsters, and wants to help them creating a monopoly in the game-console-market. That is a sad day for humanity!
