Does it say that Soulblighter or Balor discovered the Dream of Unlife, specifically? The manual simply says that Soulblighter rediscovered "the reanimation of the dead." It's quite possible--and I think probably most likely--that the Dream of Unlife was never found, and what Soulblighter rediscovered were simply the garden-variety undead-raising spells.
