: Ok, things suck around here lately. So to liven it up,
: I'm posing the question: what DON'T we know? Immediate
: answers: Who is the Summoner?
: What's so special about Mazzarin?
: What is the exactly nature of the Leveller and the other
: gods?
: The latter has been rather cleverly answered by SD, so
: that leaves us with the big questions of the Summoner
: and Mazzarin, who I have previously theorized to be
: reincarnations of eachother.
Not being a GURPS-owner, I am a bit behind on the old Mazzarin front, but I can't help but notice one thing:
It is agreed that Balor, in his faliure to kill Alric (or Alric in his reluctance to die), skewed up the cycle a good bit...
In one journal entry, the narrator imagines that had the Summoner been born sixty years earlier, final victory would have belonged to the Fallen Lords... Seeing how close they came to winning anyways, this is quite imaginable.
My theroy is: The break in the cycle was all in the Fault of The Summoner for turning up late... Had he arrived at the same time as Balor, then the Cycle would be just fine, with another Myrkridia-stricken Dark Age. (or if you want, you can shout "HEAD" and say that it was the Head's fault that no Fallen Lord ever got its hands on the Total Codex...but I think that's too repetitive...)
Whadda ya say... yesno?
