The "purple fish" are NOT the medium sized fish resembling salmon. The "purple fish" are the giant, roundish, brutish-looking fish that you will encounter after receiving approximately 2,500 points.

These fish are after the GIANT green fish, which occur around 1,500 points.

Do not confuse these with the Small green fish and the small purple fish, which are only the 4th or 5th fishes encountered.

So, if any of you are referring to the Salmon-purple fish when you exclaim "I beat the purple fish!", then: No, those aren't "The" purple fish.
