Yeah, posting just a little response here, this whole idea is prety much brand new, and by my watch less than 12 hours old.
Some of the things I brought up dealt with in such a game the dark could easily replenish their thrall supply, while the armies of light must train their soldiers, and even then a greenhorn recruit just out of the academy wont have the staying power or mental discipline of a veteran anyway.
Conscription will be vital in the light side of the battle, although there should be a limit for how many people you can drag from the cities before starting a civil war of your own.
I figured the trow (and perhaps forest giants) could be neutral entities, not actual armies. Perhaps won to your side in battle, in any event it should be exceedingly difficult to win either to the light or dark causes, and thus there should be a very complex and detailed process for achieving this.
I thought about starting a scenario for this in the Wolf Age, however probably the begining work will be simpily on an exapndable foundation that will fit any campaign, at any time.
One last point Ive thought might be good to include, is the 'new recruit freakout' (light only). In which recently conscripted (and mentaly unready) light warriors lose their nerve and refuse to follow orders, that might add a more human element to the game, for while veterans may gladly charge into a hopeless battle to buy time, unseasoned recruits might not.
