Not nessisarily true, the archers in the old english armies were often looked down upon because they where genearly recrueted from the lower classes of socioty. At the battle of Avencourt (sorry for spelling and lack of dates, the book I was using for info has made itself scairce) the English bowmen went out of their way to kill or capture the French men at arms for the wealth and presteage they stood to gain from the ransoms. The French on the other hand, tryed desperetly not to fall prey to the archers, for being captured by troops from a lower class would cause a seveir loss of honer.
Just some information to keep the balence.
