: One other tidbit I remembered it that during the
: narration to "The Ibis Crown", the narrator
: says he is not going into the catacombs, but instead
: going to Forest Heart to search for the tain shard.
: But we play the level with the Ibis Crown anyway, then
: we defend Muirthemne, and then we go to Forest Heart,
: where, it may be assumed, the narrator is, although
: again, he might be in a band different from the
: Deciever's. I don't know what this proves to me,
: except that the narrator doesn't have to be in levels
: that he writes about.
What it suggests to me--and it should suggest the same to you; if it doesn't you're a Communist and a fascist and you probably eat babies--is that when the narrator isn't in a level, he says so. As he did for "Redemption" and "With Friends Like These," and the TFL narrator did for the Champions levels, "The Watcher," the Myrgard levels and a couple others (IIRC). Since the narrator doesn't say anything like this for the other Myth2 levels where no warriors appear, I infer that he *is* in those levels. They could very easily have had him say something like--for "The Wall," say--"Since I'm quick on my feet, I've been ordered to head upstream and scout for attacking forces in that direction. My comrades will remain here in the more dangerous position of defense," but they opted not to.
